St Senans Open Sports



Pictured above is West Waterford's Kate Veale who reprsented Ireland at the Junior Olympics in Singapore in the Summer. Kate singed autographs for Luke O'Brien, Jamie McCarthy, Emma O'Brien and Erica Kelly.


Above with running mum is Nina Lawlor who medalled in the U8 race.

In all 50 Juvenile members competed at the open sports on Sunday. With a lovely day it was great to see so many there. Well done to the U12 boys team of Hugo Blair, Jamie McCarthy, David McGlynn and Luke O'Brien who won team gold. Four other U12s were biting close on their heels to count on the team and were Dan Cronin, Fergus O'Brien, Arron Robinson and Adam Morrissey. looking good for the counties on Sunday next in Dungarvan for this developing team.

Medal wins also included Ethan Flynn in the U9 boys and Lynsey McGuire in the U10 girls.

Also Kate Nolan, Niamh Tebay, Caroline Farrelly and Claire Grant ran very well to claim the Junior Ladies Team prize with Kate being 2nd and Niamh 3rd Individually.

Next Outing: SUNDAY NEXT: County Cross Country Championships: 1 pm start at the St Augustine College in Dungarvan. Races for U10, U12,U14,U16 and U18.

Adamstown Cross Country - Sunday 19th Sept




Well done to all who made the journey to Adamstown in Co. Wexford for a very well run cross country event.
The club had representations throughout the day from Tiny Tots through to senior Ladies and Men.

Some photos shown above are Anne & Rita O'Brien and Aoibhe Waring from the Tiny tots 200m and Boys U13 winning team.
Top 3 finishers were U9 boys: Ethan Flynn 3rd, U10 girls: Lynsey McGuire 1st, U11 boys: Fergus O'Brien 3rd, U13 boys: Conor Quinn 3rd and team 1st with Ethan Robinson, David McGlynn, Luke O'Brien and Jamie McCarthy.
Others who competed well over these long distances were Anna Beadle, Megan Waring, Eimear McGlynn, Dylan Rowe Brannigan, Claire Caulfield, Craig Morrissey, Emma Caulfield, Saoirse Casey Power, Emma O'Brien, Nicole Rowe and Claire Grant.

Cross country event: St Senans Open

An excellent cross country event is on Sept 26th in Kilmacow. The St Senans open cross country sports with races from U8 right through to senior and masters.
Start time is 1pm
This is always a great event so all members are encouraged to take part.
